Based on the current problems in engineering education, the necessity of cultivating academicpratical teachers in engineering education is discussed. The research shows that it is an important precondition for cultivating academicpractical teachers in higher engineering education to change the engineering education conception and mode. The mode of “Intervention in advance” engineering education can promote the cultivation of academicpractical teachers of engineering subject; and parttime professorlevel engineer of enterprise can provide an important support of the cultivation of academicpractical teachers and engineerlevel professor in the higher schools. Higher schools should face to the society to fetch in professorlevel engineer from every walk of life to teach in the part time, and appoint them to be parttime professors, in order to improve the structure of teachers troops. The longterm and stable teaching practice base is also the important base of the cultivation of academicpratical teachers. Furthermore, the continuing engineering education system should be build up.
