Chinese Geological Education is an academic journal jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Geological Society of China, and China University of Geosciences (Beijing). The current editor in chief is Sun Youhong, academician of the CAE Member and president of China University of Geosciences (Beijing).


Chinese Geological Education was founded in 1991, sponsored by the Chinese Geological Education Association, and distributed internally as a journal; In 1995, with the approval of the National Press and Publication Administration, it was changed to a quarterly publication for public distribution both domestically and internationally; In 2002, it was jointly organized by the Geological Society of China and China University of Geosciences (Beijing), and China University of Geosciences (Beijing) was responsible for the resource allocation of journal construction. Since its inception, Chinese Geological Education has always adhered to the socialist purpose and policy of publishing, strictly following the guidelines, policies, and regulations of the Party and the state on news and publishing. As the only academic journal in China that focuses on the theoretical and practical reform of geoscience and related disciplines, comprehensively promotes and facilitates the service of geoscience to society, continuously advances innovation in higher education concepts and practices, and provides intellectual support for China's geoscience education to go global.

The former editors in chief of Chinese Geological Education include Xiong Zengxi, Deputy Director of the Education Department of the Ministry of Land and Resources, Bi Kongzhang, former first level inspector of the Human Resources and Education Department of the Ministry of Land and Resources and former Party Secretary of China University of Geosciences, and Wu Gangguo, former President of China University of Geosciences (Beijing). We have a high-level editorial team composed of experts from various disciplines, involving geological industry colleges, comprehensive universities, research institutes, and industry management departments.

Chinese Geological Education has columns such as School (Institute) Leaders Forum, Geological Figures, Geological Frontier Review, Geology and Society, Education and Management, Curriculum and Teaching, Training Mode, Practical Teaching and Base Construction, Ideological and Political Education, etc. To build a platform for educational science research, problem exploration, academic and information connection for Chinese geoscience educators, continuously promoting and enhancing the cultural, academic and innovative value of geoscience education.

Chinese Geological Education has received multiple honors and has been awarded the title of National Excellent Social Science Journal. "Geological Figures" has been recognized as an excellent column in National Social Science Journal and Beijing University Humanities and Social Science Journal. It has also been included in several important databases in China.
